Front 2.5 Triple Bypass
There's nothing new about a King 2.5 three tube bypass shock... but running them through the coil on a Dodge Ram is.This is one of those ideas floating around in Sage's head that found it's way to the drawing board.
One of the nicest features of this idea, is that there's nothing to test, develop or sort out, it's a proven shock that has years of R&D into developing ride quality and performance.
Sage knew the shock with bypass tubes would fit through the coil. The challenge was what to do about the reservoir hose. On a bypass shock, the reservoir hose has to come out of the bottom of the shock body or you start to dilute it's performance aspects.
This is one of those things that just took the time to sit down and figure it out. Sage mocked up a custom 4 tube layout; 3 bypass tubes and one reservoir tube.
This puts the reservoir exit in the right place on the shock to be able to dial those bypasses up for the fun.
Everything had to be taken into account, including how to get the truck back together, there's a certain stacking order that let's it happen one way. There is a lot more to it than just what meets the eye.
The shock tower had to be put on a machine to gain some clearance, a special fitting is required to adapt the hose to the bypass / reservoir tube and everything has to line up and stay in the right place.
This turned out to be a pretty slick move, allowing customers to bolt-up more proven performance. The word on the street is a new steel tower will be coming specially fitted for running this shock. This will be another addition to high-performance suspension options - bolt-on triple bypasses, front and rear.
